I just had a thought. Since iSync will be compatible with Sony Erricson's new phone, will it be possible to make use of that for syncing with the Revo? Didn't I read that the SE phone runs EPOC?
If this won't work, any other ideas? I love my Revo, but I'm really looking forward to iSync. :P I'd even be willing to pay for syncing options.
Any ideas?

It may run EPOC but it will probably be version 6 or 7, where the Revo runs ER5. I wouldn't expect any connectivity / sync software for the phone to be of any use with the Revo.
....but I could be wrong :)

Run PsiWin under Virtual PC on a Mac?

Egad! I remember how before I actually got my Mac, I used to think it would be cool to get VPC so I could still use a few programs. However, after using OSX so much, I've come to the conclusion that I would never want to contaminate my Mac with Windows(even if it's not quite the real thing). Besides, I have gotten to the point that I can no longer stand to look at Windows. I hate it. :P
Anyway, I can connect Revo and Mac in Classic, so PsiWin wouldn't get me much farther than I am now. Besides, that still wouldn't sync with iSync, which is what I really want to begin with.
Oh well, I may just have to settle for the phone and resign myself to using the Revo merely for portable Word Processing. :P

Glad to hear there's another Revo+Mac user! What software do you use to link the two? I am trying to use the software of Philip Galmel, called Trafic S5, though I haven't succeeded in the basic installation yet!
Can someone tell me, if I have a file with ending ".sis", how can I move it into my Psion "internal C drive" and then open it? I tried to drag it from my Windows PC (since for the "Revo side" I have to do it via a PC...), but it didn't work.
Thanks

You should be able to "drag & drop" with a PsiWin connection running - I usually right click, drag & drop then select Copy from the menu. If you have the "Copy Anywhere" application running, try disabling that first. Once in the Revo, just highlight the .sis file and press Enter to run the installation.

Thanks for the tip, now I've managed to install the .sis file! I did it through the Psion that shows up on my PC though. I had trouble finding the Trafic S5 icon on my Revo (now I found it, in the Extras (didn't show in the Document folder).
I still have trouble installing on the iMac side however, but I will try to sort that out with the software author!

sister,
I'm using Psion's program for OS9 - MacConnect. It's version 1.1.4. If you can find a copy of MacConnect, the 1.1.4 updater is a free download which can be found on many of the Revo download sites; www.download.com has it I think. If you want to email me(groovechicken_at_earthlink.net), I can help you locate MacConnect. Anyway, I use that with a Belkin serial to USB converter($29.99 from Circuit City) and it works like a champ. Unfortunately, this won't allow true synching the way the PC version does. All you can do on the Mac is "Backup", "Compress", "Restore", "Install", and copy files back and forth.
But... I just found a way to actually pseudo-synch it with Mac OSX's Address Book and iCal!!! All you have to do is open Contacts, hit "Menu", select "More", then "Export Contact..." Another window pops up, and you can choose "Current contact only" for exporting single contacts, or "All contacts in view" to export the whole shebang. In this window, choose the name for the file you are creating, and the folder to save in, then hit "OK". Now, copy the file from the Revo to your Mac(you have to actually boot into 9 to move files back and forth, Classic will only let let you perform the above listed functions). When you reboot into OSX, simply open Address Book and import the file you created. All your contacts will be added to the list!
In order to synch your Agenda with iCal, you'll need to download the program vCal and install it on your Revo. Then, you can use it to export your Agenda into a .vcs file. Once you've done this, copy this file over to the Mac and import it into iCal. Done. If you want to go from iCal to Agenda, export from iCal to .vcs format, copy it to the Revo, use vCal to convert it to Agenda format, then merge it into your Agenda file.
Granted, this solution isn't as elegant as the 1-click option that iSynch will give us when it is released, but it's better than nothing and it's better than using Windows! ;)

I am thinking of switching from PC to Mac. Can anyone give me some pointers on connecting a 5mx please. I've got the basic version of Macconnect plus the upgrades to version 1.1.4 plus OS9 from the Psion web site. Any other hints for using OSX with 5mx before I take the plunge?
