Help for new Treo 680 Please

Hi!

I am new to the treo 680 and have a few questions.

If I want to download updates do I have to download the CD that came with the phone first for all downloads?

I am trying to include the little smiley face in my text messages, but they don't show up.

Also, I don't understand how to remove a name from my sim card.

I appreciate anyone that can walk me through this.

Hi Deb, who is your provider? Verizon, Sprint, etc.
If you go to palm.com, you can download updates on your Treo. You can also click on MyTreo. Then (at least for Sprint) click on "update". This should update your smartphone.
As far as text messaging, are you using the built-in messaging software? If so, you will only get the text version of the smiley face :-). Please explain what you mean by remove a name on your sim card?
