Is there a speakerphone for the 6510?? I have been a nextel customer of a while now, and it is hard to get the hang of having to put the phone to my ear for the radio operation...

I just got my 6510 today, pretty happy with it so far but no, when using Direct Connect mode there is no speakerphone.

Just got mine really running yesterday. Took a day to get the Nextel Online turned on but I've got the web browser working, along with the radio and phone. It's a great unit, but has some things that save the battery life, like the speaker that you mentioned. Just a couple more that I'm sure will be fixed with updates.
1. If the person you are radio'ing hits the mode button on their phone to bring it back to the phone mode, your mode also switches immediately back to the main menu, even if your not done talking yet.
2. I need an extra battery, but can't buy one.
3. The in holster/outta holster ring options are great, but you still can't get a 100% silent mode while in a theatre. Keyups still chirp through.
4. I'm still playing with the e-mail forwarding but I'm sure that my learning curve, not the unit's.

Things that I really like are
1. The call history is friggin great!!
2. The keypad is a breeze
3. I mentioned the ring options are nice
4. Turn it off and the PDA still works
5. Battery life is awesome!!

I'm still learning with it and since it's so new the documentation is just a starting point, you really have to hit this hands on and test it. It also helps to be somewhat split brained. One half has to think like your using a blackberry and look for solutions, and the other half you need to think like Nextel and remember little stuff to make it come together. An example is that you need to enter in the entire fleet number on the radio ID's to get it recognize it on an incoming call, not just the mem id number that we are used to.

Overall I really like it, Keep posting any tips that you discover and help the rest of us newbies.

I haven't notice this. I just have the member id numbers and it tells me who is calling....
