Palm Vx Backlight

Backlight on my Palm Vx is king of weird, when it is on, it seems to be too much of it (sort of overexposed). I tried adjusting contrast, but it does not help. Basically when backlight is on, I can hardly see my apps. Anybody has any ideas?

There's a Palm shortcut out there that changes the backlight to be inverted and then it can be reversed back again if you don't like that setting. It really changes the way you see your Palm in the dark - I did it a couple times on my IIIxe and ended up going back to the original Palm setting. Did you buy your Palm used? Maybe someone has already done that and you need to reverse the backlight by using the shortcut.

The procedure is: Go to memo section - start a new memo - in the graffiti letter area - make a cursive L to start the shortcut - then tap (you'll get the period) - then tap again - then make an 8 in the numerical graffiti area. Your backlight should be reversed from what you had - if you don't like it, start a new memo, do the same shortcut and you will go back to what you previously had.

Yes i did got it used (it is actually IBM workpad c3). I tried the shortcut but it does nothing. When you say cursive L, this is normal letter L?

I did figure it out, but changes nothing. It does say normalbacklght & invertingbackligh, but it is still the same. Compare to Sony Clie I have, it really sucks.
