Havent read of this one yet so maybe its just me

Often when I click on the change zoom option opera crashes out with the Kern exec 3 error, when using the zoom feature on the bottom right of the screen it seems to happen worst when I decease the zoom. It also does it when I use ctrl shift M.

do you have a few windows open or not much RAM on C? Full-screen redraws can kill Opera if its a bit stressed.

Yes I do have a few windows open, But this is not unusal for me and it has not happened before. I have tried it with just one window and it still happens and also interesting just noticed that if Iam in the edit mode on the pisonplace board and click to change from no images to veiw images using the middle Icon on the bottom left it also crashes with the same error, Hmmm I wonder though I doubt it if it could be to do with this being a new netbook and a french one running a UK OS not that I imagine it would make any difference. I have loads of memory about 36MB on the C:\ the only thing different is this is the first time I have tried surfing psionplace from the netbook before. I admit to being a little confused over the best settings for opera cache, connections, documents etc, options in the menu preferences and maybe I could enhance performance somehow. Thanks Yan

The only tweaks I can remember making to Opera are:

- 2MB cache (up from 200K)
-empty cache on exit. I did this because I began to get problems when Opera's cache got too full (even before I upped its size from 200K). Rather than manually deleting it from time to time, it now only empties when I actually shut Opera down.
- automatic RAM cache. Don't exactly know what this option does, but it sure sounds good!

I suggest you clear down the cache. The only way I know of to do this cleanly is to set 'empty on exit', close Opera, re-open it, and un-set the option again.
