I got the tungsten T. When I put programs on the sd card, I go into a soft reset; ie, the screen shows the "palm powered" screen rather than the sync screen. I won't syn the palm and the sc card. Palm sent me a new tungsten and the same problem.

I can put programs and games on the card, but have to pop it out to sync them handheld. I have worked for weeks on this, as some may have seen in previous posts. Even the simpleist games that came on the essentials cd, interferr with the sync and I have to pop out card.

I have nothing unusual on my palm. I have launcherX (which I like) but had these problems waaaay prior to launcher. I thought maybe it was epocrates, but it is not.

Anyone had anything even remotely similar? Any input at this point would be appreciated

Do you have the beta version of the Palm keyboard driver? When I had that on my Palm, I got frequent resets during hotsync. Once I took it off, no more problems. (actually I just moved it to the SD card using PowerRun so I can load it when needed. ...)

Apparently this driver probes the ports, and doesn't coexist well with hotsyncs.

Are you saying that when you use the install tool to install stuff to your SD card, then when you push the hotsync button, instead of hearing the hotsync tune and seeing the hotsync, you immediately get the Palm reset logo?

I've been following your stuggles with your Tungsten and I feel badly for you because things should be working much more smoothly. My TT syncs to my PC "as advertised" with my SD card in the TT's slot. It does not go into a soft reset and I have most of my apps and files on my SD card. Of the 12 MB available in the TT's RAM, I still have 10MB free. My 64MB SD card only has about 8 MB free. If both TTs that you tried have done the same thing on your PC, maybe it's time to try a different PC. Can you persuade a friend to let you install Palm Desktop to their PC, hook up the cradle, and try a sync? If the sync works, then there must be something on your PC causing the reset and the incompatability with an in-place SD card. (That was just a suggestion, K? I'm trying to help you find the source of your syncing problem.)

Good thought, and yes, I can try that.

I do like my tt and will work with it somehow.

Was pleased with the way palm handled my problem and sent me a replacement prior to the return of my other. Good service.
