Hello, I am new to the PPC world after nearly 10 years with Palm but I wanted to replace my Tungten T5 with a PDA with built in Navigation & GPS.
So I bought a rx5935 (UK/EU version of 5915 with European maps) and downloaded the DST update as advised by the HP iPAQ support site. However my rx5935 did not update to summer time yesterday as expected. Has anyone else had this issue in UK / EU ? Should I have ignored it as I do not live in the US ?
I also loaded a GPS update from the support site and it seems now that the GPS is less sensitive than when I bought it 10 days ago. For example this morning in the car the GPS app in TomTom was showing 4 satellites with 50-75% signal and yet the device could not lock on and get a position until I put it in the window and it then showed 6-8 satellites and locked on.
As a newby to PPC WM5 how easy is it to remove the DST and GPS updates, I assume I need to hard reboot and reload all the PIM data and other apps. Will the TomTom application and data (especially the maps) be saved OK ?
P.S. I have read and found in practice that TomTom Home does not manage to back up ther Navigator 6 software correctly on iPAQs.
