Hi All

Just a quick quwstion or two.

I currently own a series 3mx and will shortly also have a 5mx.

I am currently backing up my 3mx using psiwin.

The question is this - when I get my 5mx can I back up both machines and if so how do I do it ?

Do I just plug in and backup and the software automatically knows it's a different machine and create an additional folder to back up the 5mx or do I need to do anything differently ?

Same as regards should I need to restore - do I need to do anything differently ?

Many thanks in advance for any advice

Stefan

Hi Stefan

This is generally quite straightforward. When first you connect the new 5mx, PsiWin should report an unrecognised machine, and give you the opportunity to name it. From then on it will have its own folders, separate from the 3mx.

You need a pretty up-to-date version of PsiWin to cope with this - I'm using the latest, 2.3.3 - I think it worked from v2.3 onwards, but I can't quite recall! Perhaps someone else can just confirm on that point.

I've actually got five different Psions all backing up to the same PC - hope that reassures.
