My S300 just took a dump. I had it for about 2 years. I want to buy the SJ30 and I need it now! Everybody has them for $249. I have seen them at Bestbuy, Staples, even Target has them. All for the same price.

Even the internet does not offer a better price when you add shipping charges. Used ones on Ebay go for $200. What's the deal. Are they in such a demand that there is no need for a discount? Is there very little profit made so there is no room for discounts? Does Sony dictate the selling price?

I got mine 186 after mail in rebate
in Amazon.com
Lucky me get a 36 dollars coupon which reduce the price from
248-37=211
211-25MIR=186
shipped free..

However, the coupon I got is from amazon gold box at the right
top cornor of amazon homepage. Try if you can get one. It seems that they are random.

good luck

sorry guys, i didnt know about this forum until after i got my SJ30, but i got mine for $200 new from compUSA, it was because their website had an error and placed it as $199.99 instead of the regular price. So the guy at CompUSA said he has to uphold their promotion.

I just purchased my standard silver-case SJ30 at Best Buy for $249, then two days later, Fry's Electronics put a SJ30 with black case on sale for $224.99. Best Buy has a price guarantee of the difference + 10% of the difference, so I took the Fry's ad and went to see them. I walked out with a refund of $29.73 with tax, so I am a happy camper! I thought Best Buy might disallow it because mine is silver and the Fry's Electronics model is black, but I think they didn't notice that fact. They even called Fry's to make sure it was still on sale today!

So if you have a Fry's Electronics near you, as of today, you can get a black-case SJ30 for $224.99 . . . I shopped for the SJ30 on the Internet, and found as some have said, that the prices weren't going to save me much over purchasing locally with the attendant advantages of local return if a problem, so I bought locally.

BTW, I really like the SJ30. This is my first PDA, and I already have ditched my Daytimer I was lugging around.
