Have you tried soft-resetting it?

Yes have just done that and now it shows 2.88mb on Storage & Program. When i save all my files i save them on my SD card to avoid filling the memory up. It say's i am using 44.27mb of memory but i can't find out where.

There are some culprits that will eat up your storage memory space without you even knowing it. Internet cache and temp files are high on that list, as are email attachments. Adding an app like MemMaid and setting it to do a clean-up pass whenever you soft reset will help. And most tweaking apps let you relocate cache folders to your memory card.

Another help will be to install apps, when possible, to your memory card. The majority of apps will run fine, but you need to make this option at installation. For existing apps, it is usually best to uninstall and reinstall to the alternate location so any needed registry entries are made and reference to proper location info.

Also, keep in mind that the 'X' button in WM does close an app. It moves it to the background but keeps it open in the program memory area. You can close apps through Settings..System..Memory..Running Programs. Or most task-management apps add true close function to the 'X' button.

All these things (system trash, default installation locations, unclosed apps) eat up precious RAM.

Did you install any programs in the main memory? And try delete the content of Temp folder and empty cache in pocket internet explorer.

Edit a typo in my last post:

The native behavior of the 'X' button is that it does not close apps but leaves in program memory running in the background.

I really miss having a post edit function.

Hello,

My name is Rick, I’m a Dell Technical Analyst located at Dell corporate headquarters in Round Rock, TX. Most applications made for PDAs install to the onboard memory, you might want to try clearing out any old programs that you no longer run. Also as stated before clearing the temp files and doing a soft reset often free up space on handhelds.

If you need further assistance you can email me at Customer_Advocate@Dell.com (Just put “Attn Rick” in the subject line)

Thanks,
Rick

Hi Guys,

Have now got lots of memory, I did a full reset and now the program & storage memory are roughly 19mb of memory available each. Many thanks for all of your help in this matter.

Cheers

Blacksmoke :)

I have a similar problem. I had a IR keyboard once but uninstalled it. The problem is that it stills comes up as a window on its own though the program doesn't show as a program on the uninstall program. When I go to settings, memory and running programs there it is and I shut it down. I have all incoming beams shut down and don't know why this program still shows up, Please advise
