I know they have CompactFlash 802.11b cards that work in pocket pc's. But theoreticly if I have a USB Card Reader connected to my PC can I put the CompactFlash 802.11b card in that and have internet on my PC ? or does it not work that way?

No, it does not work that way.
I have a similar query but using a PCMCIA adaptor for the Wi-Fi card in my laptop.
Anyone had any success?

Yes, the CF WLAN card will work in a laptop with an adapter, but only if the card maker has drivers for the OS in the laptop.
