I travel a lot and obviously need to reset the date/time on my handheld to reflect the regional time zone I'm in at the moment. When I do this and then synch to my Palm desktop software, my Calendar entries on the desktop for the previous region get shifted to the equivalent time in the region where I am.
For example, I make entries in Australia when I'm there and then go to the UK. When I adjust the time to GMT in the UK and synch, the desktop entries for Australia get shifted ahead 9 hours (Sydney time is GMT +9hrs) and even entries that aren't designated with a time get shifted forward a day.
Then when I go back to Australia, the entries that I made in the UK get shifted backwards 9 hours (i.e. the equivalent time in Australia).
All the while this is happening, all the appointments are happily where they should be on the handheld, so the issue seems to be with the desktop software. I've tried uninstalling and reinstalling, but to no avail; the appointments just get shifted again on the next hotsynch.
This is happening not just with recent appointments but all the way back through the years of my calendar.
Interestingly, though, I had no such issue when I brought my previous handheld (Handspring Visor) with me from Canada to the UK and adjusted the time.
Any ideas on how to make the desktop software behave and conform to the appointment times that are (correctly) stored in the handheld?
Thanks,
KTM
