My iQue3200 keeps resetting while driving. I hate it. How do you people live with this? I have a reset once per week.
Since my SD card is 1GB, the 3200 no longer reads the maps on the 1 GB SD card. Therefore I need to install the patch while in the car. I have the patch on a seperate 16MB SD card but I do not know how to copy the patch from the 16MB SD card to the PDA since all programs (like filez) have dissapeared from the reset!
Thanks in advance! -Tony

you can use reinstall Filez first.
Or you can use a card reader and double click on the file to install it.

How can I do that while in the car ...I have no computer in the car. All I have is a Garmin that reset and an SD card with the patch and filez on it.
Is it possible to install filez from the SD card? ...WITHOUT a computer?

Thanks in advance! -TonyYou need to backup from a Backup application. If you you don't have one, chalk it up to experience and get one. I don't think a soft reset wipes the patch which is not on the SD card but in the memory in the iQue.

Thanks again,
Well, Everything is GONE when it decides to reset; the patch is gone and FileZ is gone too. If FileZ stayed there, I wouldn't have a problem.
Is there a way to copy a file over from an SD card to the PDA with just the default software?
If I DID have a backup program, that too would be wiped clear after the reset if FileZ and the patch are gone ...right? Or is there a way to run the backup program with just the default OS and programs on the PDA?
Thanks!

I use BackupMan and it keeps a copy of itself on the card as well as in RAM, so when you lose your programs in RAM you use the copy on the card to restore.
You can copy programs from the Launcher folder on the card to RAM with the OS. Just tap on Home/Menu/Copy.

If I DID have a backup program, that too would be wiped clear after the reset if FileZ and the patch are gone ...right?No. That's the whole idea. When you have a hard reset which wipes everything from internal memory, you have a copy of everything on the SD card including everything from the internal memory. There is a separate Backup utility which resides on the SD card that will restore the internal memory just like it was before the hard reset.

Thanks ...is there a way to run a program on the SD card after a hard reset (assume EVERYTHING was lost in the internal memory, but not the SD card)?

Yes, you can run programs directly from the SD card if they are in the /Palm/Launcher folder. The programs there show up in the card category of the standard launcher.

Well, that would solve my problem. Do you mean the /Palm/Launcher folder on the SD card?
Also, how do I tell the PDA to launch a program located on the SD card ...or does it just show up as an icon if it's in the /Palm/Launcher folder?
I hate to ask these straight-up simple questions, but I am very thankful for those helping!

Adam, I'm not sure what you mean my "card category" of the "standard launcher."
sorry! -Tony

from Home, menu if you tap Copy it copies programs from RAM to card and versa vice. The place the OS likes to place the programs on the card is the /Palm/Laucher folder.
If a program is sitting in this folder on the card you can access it and run it with the OS. Tap Home, then change category from "All" to the card (in the right upper corner). Now all your programs in the /palm/launcher folder of the card should show up. Tap on the program icon and it should execute.

BRILLIANT!!
That's exactly the info I needed! I tried it and everything's gonna work.
If I have a hard reset, I'll run the patch from the 16MB SD card and then insert the 1GB SD card with the maps on it.
Funny thing; I NEVER saw the "All" and the drop-down list in the upper right corner. I also didn't know that putting a prc file in the PAlm/Launcher folder allowed the running of the program.
THANKS ADAM!!!!
