Hi,
I am trying to decide between four different PDA's: an iPAQ 3955, a T-Mobile Pocket PC (which is basically an iPAQ), or a Toshiba e740, or a Dell Axim X5. I am currently using a Palm 130 and want to upgrade to a Pocket PC, but I am unsure which to chose. There are many other choices (please tell me if I am missing something), but I think I have narrowed it down to these four. I do currently have a cell phone (don't really use it much), but it would be nice to have a convergence device. Besides, the T-Mobiles are currently available at Amazon for $299 after rebate, which is a sweet deal. I want the PDA mostly for my medical practice, but I also would like some multimedia features such as the MP3 player. Since I do not have a large investment in SD or CF cards, this is not a big deal to me and I do not really need Bluetooth. Any advice would be appreciated.

Thanks. :)

my advice: if youre gonna get the pocket pc phone, youre probably gonna have to sign up for tmobile service. not a good choice if you already have mobile service. my advice: i just got the iPAQ h1910 and i LOVE it. it came out a few days ago, and is now available at compusa and best buy (though not listed online yet) for $299. theyre great if you need a bare-bones pocket pc. and i believe it is the smallest palm of any sort on the market. here, ill attach some pics of mine...

it goes really fast with everything, including audio. and it plays back video reasonably good as well, a feat which few pocket pcs can do. Hope this helps.

With all manufacturers trying to clear stock before Christmas, there are great prices on the iPAQ 3800 series units. Saw one this weekend in the Sunday paper sales flyers for $250 after rebates for the 3835.

Since you have the ever-present lab coat pocket, size may not matter much. The Toshiba has both card slots built-in to a fairly thin unit though. One doc held my 3845 iPAQ and said it's lighter than his Toshiba.

If you get a PPC phone and one function has to go for repair, you lose the other function. I like having 'em separate. It's my phones that usually fail.

T-mobile is said to have spotty coverage at the moment.
