Hi,
I have a NetBook Pro with Ambicom Bluetooth card. Although I can use the device with 'Blue Neighbors' software, I get a 'Bluetooth hardware error 10050' when I try to scan for devices via the Control Panel > Bluetooth Device properties.
Is this usual or is it my software/hardware?
Regards.

HPC Factor solved this for me...
The Bluetooth properties option within the Control Panel is for socket Bluetooth, not Ambicom.
I would definately recommend this Ambicom card. Downloads images, video and music in seconds..try the videos and music on Pocket MVP - excellent performance compared to Windows Media (even without speakers plugged in!)

Hi Adam,
I bought an ambicom bt2000d cf bluetooth card.
I didn't realise that there was also a bt2000 version.
Is my card the same as yours and where did you get the blue neighbor software from ?
Thanks,
Arthur

Yep,
That is the same one...took me a while to find the driver as the support at the main website is discontinued.
Download here - choose CE.NET 4.2

Thanks Adam,
You are a wealth of info.
Could only find driver ce net for arm.
Installed this and the blue neighbor software has loaded and executes normally but I can't get the card to work.
I can't configure it and it gives an error when searching for devices.
Any idea what I am doing wrong.

Adam,
Looks like yours is a bt2000 and mine a bt 2000d unfortunatly.
I think that there are only pocket pc drivers for mine and that the one you recommended will only work with the 2000.
Am I correct ?

the 2000D IS NOT THE SAME CARD.
use the widcomm drivers for it. if you cant find them, post on hpcfactor and we will sort it out.
sorry, i rarely visit psionplace, too many sites to keep up with already. i'm on hpcfactor, that's why i suggest this.

No problems Adam,
I found a BT2000 for £23 on the net and have ordered it.
The BT 2000d works well on my laptop.
Could you help me with one other (hopefully the last) problem.
I had tried the nyditot virtual graphics 4.23 with good result.
When I paid for it, version 5 was downloaded instead of 4.23.
I entered the reg code and ran the program which crashed the system requiring a hard reset.
I subsequently uninstalled version 5 and reloaded version 4.23.
Unfortunately, the reg seed has remained the same and the new reg code doesn't work.
Nyditot support have not been helpful.
I presume that the original regcode / seed is stored somewhere and not removed when the software is uninstalled.
Where is it and how do I remove it ?
Or have you got version 5 working ?
Thanks,
Arthyur

Hi,
I have version 5.02. I have had no problems installing it. I have had to do this twice as I hard reset my the Pro just the other day.
I just downloaded it and followed the instructions..
Have you tried the remove programs option in the control panel and then tried a soft reset?
Regards.

Adam,
I have no problems installing or registering version 5 but it crashed my system when I ran it.
Does it work without problems on your machine ?
Regards,
Arthur
PS got the bt2000 today and everything seems to be working fine

Good to hear re the card.
Sometimes I need to perform a soft reset when using Nyditot - but it is quite rare and works fine most of the time...
