I use MS Outlook 2003 on Win XP machine. I use Microsoft ActiveSync 4.5 to synch with my HP iPAQ 1945.

In Outlook I have multiple categories of Tasks. Each has a different name, so when I open Outlook and click on the Tasks button I get a list of categories. For example, there is a single category labeled Tasks, another category labeled Personal, another category labeled Ongoing Long Term, and so on.

The problem is MS ActiveSync only synchs and shows the tasks found in the Tasks category. None of the other tasks show up.

I have multiple categories for my Contacts and all of them show up, displaying just as they do in Outlook.

Is there a way I can have ALL of the tasks, regardless of what category they're in, displayed on my iPAQ?

Thank you.

Hi

It sounds to me that you created sub-folders under the Tasks folder for your tasks. ActiveSync will not sync those folders. All your tasks need to be in the Tasks folder so that they are synched to your IPAQ. You can use categories in the same way as for your contacts.

Thanks Patrick. Any other programs out there you know of that would allow me to do what I described?

Nothing free that I know of, but both Intellisync and Pocket Mirror add greater flexibility to ActiveSync. This includes syncing of subfolders, which AS alone limits to the main Inbox account.
