I have a m515 which has suddenly started to lock itself on switching off. This happens despite setting the security screen to never lock & irrespective of whether there is a password assigned or not.
It started to happen after a crash & hard reset. Any ideas how to put a stop to this irritating behaviour?

Remove the password and it should not have anything to lock you out with.

That's what I thought, but the machine keeps resetting itself to lock on closing down whether there is a password or not

Did you put in any kind of secruity program? A Hard Reset will blow out any strange programs and settings in RAM. Be sure to backup all your good apps and data.
