Axim 50 Freezes during soft OR hard reset

My Axim 50 freezes during soft or hard reset attempts. The Dell blue screen displays and the completion bar moves to the right but stops 3/4 of the way and freezes. I cannot turn the PDA off. I can only push the reset button and it just stops in the same place. HELP Is there a manual reset i.e. remove the memory chip or something??

You can try removing the battery and let the backup battery completely run out.

I tried running down the battery but still freezes.
