I just bought a Sony Clie NR70 from eBay and it has a screen problem. The backlight doesn't work very well on the top left part of the screen. The seller says that it is fine without the backlight. Could it be a bad connection that I can fix, or would I need to get a new screen? It hasn't come yet, but I would appreciate any suggestions. You can look at the description and pictures at http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=1943000095&ssPageName=ADME:B:EOAB:US:6 Thanks.

OK, I got it now and it's charging. It seems that the screen also turns and extra 45 degrees further than it should, and there is a screw missing from the side panel. The turning mechanism seems to be loose compared to my friend's NR70v. Is there a way to tighten the screw or something to make it only turn the distance it should? Could this be related to the backlight problem? Thanks in advance for any help.

Wow, this is interesting. It's charged now, and it seems that whenever I close the clamshell with the screen out, it says "hold" and then turns off.

HA, I FIGURED IT OUT!!! The screen doesn't flip over when it twists, so it turns off when it thinks I close it. It isn't recognising the twist. There, I figured out what the problem is, now I need a solution. HELP ME PLEASE!!!!!!

Aparently there is a switch that controls the screen veiw and your switch is broken too it sounds like. So far all i find you can do is send it in for repair. How much did you pay for it? If you can afford it i would send it back to the guy and buy a new one. Hopefully you and the other guy with the same problem can work to gether to figure something out, sorry i couldnt help more.
