I'm looking to use a Windows pocket pc to wirelessly control Winamp on my home audio server using Remoteamp. I'm looking for a basic pocket pc to use for this and know nothing about them.

I am looking for one either new or used, and price is important.

I definitely have to have Wifi, bluetooth would be nice, and I think a memory card slot would also be worth it.

I also would like long battery life, backlit screen (are they all like this?), enough computing power and memory, and basically be a good jack of all trades pda.

I'm looking hard at the HP iPAQ rx4240 Mobile Media Companion, because it seems to fit the bill on all my requirements.

My biggest question is there something else out there either new or old that I can buy that will perform and/or cost less?

Thanks!

This should show you a list of current and older models with reviews. Look for model with at least wm2003se operating system or newer.

just a suggestion. lol but I am still pretty new to ppc's. I had a Ipaq 3950 for a year or so. I needed to upgrade and got a Ipaq rx3715 mobile media companion for 200 bucks of ebay and a 2 year warrenty for an extra 22 bucks. Personally I think it's awesome. For 200 bucks it does the job. Battery is great. I can watch a 2 hour movie and only use 25-30 percent of my battery life. Listen to mp3's for 5 hours straight and only use 30 percent. Play games like age of empires for an hour and still only use 20 percent. It's got Wifi, bluetooth, camera (video, audio and still, very nice in daylight. No flash) 100mb file storage, sd card slot, Very nice screen, 400mhz processor, 56.66mb ram and all the programs you would expect. Running Window Mobile 2003 SE, Plus full home control with nevo, mobile printing and photo editting. Plays great games and streams music and video from your pc steamlessly. For 2 hundred dollars you can't bet it in my opinion. lol
