I just ordered a backup for my 3600 (couldn't live without one). I've never ordered from here before and will post immediately if something is amiss. I just couldn't pass up a $261 new 3600. The link to their site is http://www.officetronics.com/product_info.php?item_number=12650. I also picked up a 2 Gb High Speed SD card for $24.95. Shipping via UPS was $15.93.

Update: I ordered it on June 30 and it arrived today. It only has Mapsource 7 but arrived as new with full-automotive beanbag kit and as described. I hope they have enough for all of us.

Sorry for the delay - I've been out of pocket for two weeks. Started loading up the second IQue yesterday and all appears fine. I emailed Garmin with the serial number, registration code and unlock code for the City Select NA 7 and they confirmed it's a new unit and everything is valid.

Like I said before, I hope they have enough for all of us.

Their site says

Automotive friction mount with integrated charger and speaker (w/ Bundle version only)

How did you know (from the site) that this is a bundle version?

Do I assume correctly that Garmin is sending you the updated CN NA without charge?

Again, sorry for the delay. I received CN7 with this package. I assume I'll have to buy the CN9 update this fall for $75. I didn't and wouldn't expect a free upgrade just because I "just now" registered this copy of CN7 - would be wonderful if it did. I'll have to wait until after release of CN9 to find out.

Also since the Mapsource rules changed to include only "one" unlock code per disk, I will have to buy a CN9 for each of my IQue's - Garmin did confirm that. A strategy I just thought of was: Order two disks, each free, but purchase only one unlock code for $75. If Primary Betty makes it all the way through release NV9 I didn't waste any money. I repeat this strategy until Primary Betty dies and then I'd have to buy a duplicate release to update Backup Betty with disk 2. This means I'd always have a second IQue in hand and only have to spend $75 over the internet to get it completely up to speed.

I may be full of air.

Did you ask Garmin if it's possible to remove one unlock code and change to another? You'd still be licensed for only one unit, but a different one.

Another idea is to have the backup Betty unlocked for CN7. This would allow to use the backup while the primary is being fixed, albeit with an older map set. When the primary Betty comes back you're back in business with CN9.

The release date for CN 2008 was May 1, and the ship date was July 12. If they haven't changed this policy along with the two unit policy, and if you bought (registered) your new unit after the release date you should get the update free.
