Hi all,
I've just got a REVO and I need some help with the following: i have an MSWorks database. What is the best (ie simplest) way to view this on my REVO. Can I import it directly? For my benefit I hope you will apply the KIS method (Keep It Simple) :) Thanks in adavnce

you will need to export this file from MSWorks into a generic database format - look for Save As.. or Export.. on the File menu in MSWorks, and choose CSV if its a listed type (dBase - DBF - would be another good choice).
With your Psion connected, when you drag and drop this file onto the Psion, Psiwin should offer the choice to convert this file, and it should convert to EPOC Data. You can then view the file in Data.
diem,
thanks very much for your help. I've managed to load the database and I can view it. I'm impressed.
The only thing I lost in the convesion was the titles to my fields. I know that I can relabel them in Data.
is there any way that I can "seperate" each record in Data? at the minute each record runs into the next. I've tried adjusting the width used by Data but it doesn't seem to help. Any advice or pointers to help on the Web would be apppreciated.
Once again.....many thanks for your prompt reply

You will need to play with the parameters of the export from MSWorks - at the moment it sounds as though the 'end of record' character it is using is not being picked up by Psiwin when it converts the file to EPOC Data format; consequently all the records are being concatenated into one record.
Keep messing with the export parameters or indeed file type in MSWorks, and eventually you'll find something that works. Psiwin will also convert MS Access files (Access97 only though), so you could try this as an export format.
Diem,
i think I have it beaten :D What happened was this. I lost my field titals in the transfer and they were replaced with the actual details of the first name, Surname, Address etc of the first record in the database. So when I viewed the database it looked like there were two records side by side plus other field titals were replaced with "NoName4","NoName6".
A bit of field tiatl renaming and everything looks as it should. Once again many thanks for all your help
