Just bought a Palm VX off eBay, but it is speaking French. I would like it to speak English. How can this be done (or can it be done?)
New to the Palm thing , but a quick learner if someone can step me through this process. So far my searches have come up with stuff to switch from English to (pick your language) but not the other way around.
Thanks for any help you can give,

You should be able to reflash the OS. Plam offers a CD with OS 4.1 for the Palm Vx. When you upgrade the ROM make sure you mark the English version as your preference.

I was able to reflash with 3.5.3, but some things, such as menu choices are still in french (e.g. in address book instead of home: it is domicile:)
Any ideas?

OS #.5.3 is a patched OS upgrade not a flashed OS upgrade.
I suppose you are already learning French.
Acquire the Palm OS 4.1 Upgrade CD.

I did flash 5.3 then patched with 5.3.5 (stylis sensitivity problems were solved withthis one), but still a few bits of french remain. My french is improving though and I can use the palm with no problems. Is 4.1 worth the money?

No.
Sadly OS 4.1 adds little to the operations end and unless you need a "Note Pad" I would hold my position.

If you perform a hard reset the setup program will allow you to choose your language, but you will loose all you data.
