I need help with my ipaq h3955!!

I tryed to upgrade the os, but because i was using vista, after starting to upgrade it gave an error. now the only screen I get on my h3955 says serial, compaq, v0.48. when i plug it in to the usb, "serial" turns into usb. now activesync doesnt show that its connected when it is. what now?

Try to run upgrade again, make sure activesync is not running or completely uninstalled because Activesync does not work with Vista, Windows Mobile Device Center is the replacement.

The upgrade may be also not compatible with vista so you may need an xp or lower box and run the upgrade again.

Turns out Vista was the problem, had to load activesync 4.5 in xp so the os would recognize the pda, then update the pda, activesync wouldn't detect that it was connected, but it still updated.
