I'd like to develop in C or C++ directly on my EPOC32 devices. I know there's the emx suite out there, but before I install it I wondered about the following:

1. Is it properly able to create GUI apps on the Psion, i.e. could I do anything I can do in OPL?

2. Does it like ER3 devices?

3. Can I write software that doesn't need a great load of baggage to be carried around with it? That is, would users of my software have to install parts of the EMX package themselves?

I looked at the packages a while ago but I remember not really being able to confirm these things. I've not seen any graphical apps written with it, don't remember mention of ER3, and do remember seeing apps that need the EMX libraries pre-installed, which is what sow the seeds of doubt in my mind.

You might want to email Henri Spagnolo. Henri runs a CE HPC site and a Psion site (http://mypage.bluewin.ch/YetAnotherHomePage/indexgb.html). Other than a fine person and paragon of the CE community, Henri has developed many programs for Epoc, and may have some pointers. His email address is at the site listed above.
