My HTC S710 came with windows mobile 6 which has a version of windows media player..for audio and video. But in addition, there is also an audio manager/audio player. Anybody know why they would put 2 audio players in the same OS? Also unfortunately, both dont seem to have any equalizer features. Is there any other audio application for this OS in the market which has this feature?
Thanks

Having a major problem.....downloaded the application as a Winzip file. When clicked on it, the contents is one single Winrar file (??)..extracted from here..got several files one of which says "set up". Copied the whole lot as a seperate folder to the memeory card on the phone d..but nothing was installed..the set up file extension is a XML one(??)..Going crazy trying to install..tried eveything. Am I doing something wrong or is there something wrong with the downloaded application zip?
The version downloaded is for WM6 as per the site. tried the Wm5 version but that did not install

The setup file is most likely needed to run installation from your host PC when your phone is connected to a sync session. Check the unzipped folder for a .cab file. This you can copy to your device memory or memory card and then run the install directly on the device.

noted..but here's what exactly happens..
Unzipped (winzip) the downloaded application..result is a another zipped file which is a winrar file..pointed the cursor on it and the prompt says it contains a .cab file.
Question is do I copy this second unzipped (winrar) and if so how will it unzip in the phone as there is no winrar application there. WHEN I unzip this file on the PC (have winrar on the pc), then the result is a few files, one of which says "set up" but is a XML file..
Many thanks

You will need to extract the installation .cab file from the install package and copy this over to your device if you want to run the install directly on your device. You should only need the .cab file to install in this way. What you are dealing with is the desktop installer, which is compiled to have your desktop PC install the app to your device over a sync connection and most of the files will be related to running the install using a PC host machine. To run the install on your device directly, you should only need the appropriate .cab file extracted from the install archive. Since app versions may vary depending on CPU and/or WM OS version, there may be several different cabs in the archive. You only need the one appropriate to your CPU or WM OS version.

ok..when I extract the .cab (winrar zip) file onto the pc.thefollwing a list of files that appear;
gsplayer_sp.000; GSPlayer2.001; GSplayer2.002; gsgetfile.003; gsgetfile.004; and the last as mentioned earlier... _setup which is XML document.
Which one of the above is the .cab file to be installed? Did copy all to a folder to the phone memory card clicked on the set up file ..all it did was to open an XMl document..thats it..no install. OR
Should I connect via active syn and just click on the winrar file on the pc and hope for the best? Thanks

1 Download this to desktop
http://hp.vector.co.jp/authors/VA032810/gsp/gsp228wm5.zip
2 uncompress it to a folder, you should see 5 files, leave the .cab alone, do not uncompress or rename it.
3 make sure activesync is installed and running on the desktop, connect pda to it and run setup.exe on the desktop, activesync will install application for you.

Thanks...will give it a try. though I should mention it states wm5 whereas my phone HTC S710 is a wm6. I did try the wm5 version but got a prompt saying that it was not compatible. Nevertheless, will definitely try your link and keep you posted.

I think GSplayer is just not yet compatible with smartphone, try tcpmp instead, choose Smartphone version

Have to agree with you on that..thanks for the new link though. Just installed the"windows mobile Active sync..smartphone....0.72RC1.exe"..it did install alright, but with the usual warning that this might not be compatible etc etc. Did I install the correct one? Will try it out and revert.
BTW..though it will be on a separate thread..any of you familiar with internet radio on wm6?..especially how does one add one's favourite stations..i.e. locate M3U or .pls from the stations web page?
Many thanks....appreciate all the assistance
