Love the Tungsten, hate Graffiti. Wondering if anyone knows of a Graffiti replacement that can be used without opening the slide on the Tungsten besides Keyboard Hack?

Used to use Jot, but that isn't OS 5 compatible. Really loved Silkyboard, a Keyboard overlay, but again not OS 5 and wanting something that can be used without opening the slide. Keyboard Hack requires I open the slide to start it up, and I don't like the keyboard layout compared to Silkyboard's layout.

Anybody know of anything? Thanx

misunderstood your whole question. I don't know of a grafitti replacement like jot that works like newpen.

Sorry... I should read the post before I reply:rolleyes:

Hi,
if you hate Graffiti, you may find MyScript pretty interesting.
That's what I use. You write with your own handwriting on the screen and it works like charm!

It's not cursive writing, you write each letter separately in capital, but it does wonders!

You may donwload it from www.visionobjects.com

It's compatible with Tungsten. I got mine today and installed that application I'm using for months and everything is ok.

Hope this helps
Steve

Oh, by the way, if I have a bluetooth chip in my computer can the tungsten T share it's internet connection and send e-mail and stuff? Thnks in advance.

Now using QuickWrite w/ Quick Launch. Quick write is a keyboard replacement with letters, number and symbols all on one screen and which has word completion abilities (very nice), while QuickLaunch turns the jog wheel and any app button into a launcher of more than one application and or special launch commands like the keyboard. You do need Teal Master, which works with OS 5, to get it to work perfectly, but this combo is very efficient and I never have to open the slider.

Hope this helps.

Curt,

I've downloaded and am using Jot from
<http://www.cic.com>

no problem on the TT, I am getting used to it and like it, its far more intuative, and you can pass the TT to someone else and just tell them to write single characters.

Cheers
Paul

I'm using Jot on the Tungsten T as well.

I prefer writing everything with one stroke, so in the "tuner" I've set up my options accordingly.

Things I like:
I can write my D and Q like a lowercase D and Q respectively.
No need to do an upstroke to do uppercase characters.
Better than Newpen :) If you set it to graffiti mode you can still have it 'echo' what you write on the screen when you write on the screen.
Things I don't like so much.
K is not very accurate.
Using Jot is not quite as fast as Graffiti, since there are multiple ways to enter a single character, and it can get confused unless you write clearly (and slowly).
I can't do a V by writing it backwards (like the backwards V graffiti shortcut) Thus my U's often become V's.
Greets----

Don't have any real experience with this application, but over at the Zire 71 forum several folks have mentioned Tealscript as an alternative to Grafitti 2. After I MAKE  Avantgo work, I'll try it out.

The trick is to turn on internet sharing on the PC (optional part of windows install CD).

Another trick for the BT is to disable any profiles you aren't using. :P

iSilo and/or Plucker work very well as replacements for AvantGo. Initial set up may be a little difficult though.

Support for other products on Palm OS 5.0 are in progress. Periodically check our website for availability

You also need to get the latest patch, which adds the correct profile to the TT.
