My digitiser drifts like crazy, however, I am completely stuck now because the scale of the screen is such that I can't click the silk screen buttons at the bottom nor the menu drop down at the top of the screen, so no way to get in to do a manual calibration!!
Arggg
I saw a reference to SureTap and have downloaded it, but I have no way of running it, and it doesn't seem to fire up on reset?
What other options do I have to get back to normal? (apart from a hard reset)
Thanks all
A freeware program called Z-Digitizer (available from palmgear.com) will automatically run after a soft reset to enable you to digitise again. You can then delete the program.
If you have ongoing digitizer problems I would highly recommend purchasing AutoDigi2. It has solved all my digitizer problems on my troublesome Palm Vx. It is worth the small cost.

AutoDigi2 is the right answer. Hotsync it to the Palm Vx and then do a soft reset.

I tried the Autodigitizer programs and they did not work for me! I did find the freeware solution Digifix did fix my problem -- his statement about having to pay for hardware woes really hit home with me.

Thanks to all above! I wish I had found this forum before bashing my Vx on my desk due to frustration. Had to peel the back off to get the loose pieces out but, it still works.
