Weird install problem

Hi all,

I'm new here. The last time I used my faithful M515 was on an overseas
business trip around this time last year. Recently I've got interested in
using it for another trip due soon, but I rediscovered why I hadn't used
it for a while - however long I charged it, it kept giving me a 'Your battery
is too low for this operation' error.

Eventually I hard-reset it, which at least meant it was happy to run, but
now, when I try reinstalling the apps I find useful eg. Logitech Typeaway
drivers for the Typeaway keyboard I've used quite successfully before,
and CardTXT, really weird things happen to the 'home' screen - eg.,
wherever I point the stylus on the screen, only the left hand column of
app icons horizontally in line with where the stylus is pointing responds/
runs. And when an app runs, weird stuff happens inside the app's
screen, eg, only the left-hand icons respond.

Hard resetting gets everything working fine again, but this makes
installing the apps I need rather difficult!

I can send a snapshot of the screen showing what's going on
if that'd help...

Any ideas, anyone? I'd be grateful for any thoughts you might have,
especially if you've encountered and fixed this problem!
