I was one of the unfortunate to receive my Axim with a "mushy" feeling directional pad. In fact I couldn't even use Pocket Game Boy. It would barely push to the right and down wasn't much better. I called Dell for a replacement last Thursday and received it today. I just want to report the new unit works perfectly. The new d-pad is very responsive and there is a click feeling in all directions.

Good to know that it isn't something common to all Axims anyway.

Reggie,
So far, my only gripe a about the Axim is that direction control. Mine seems to have a lot of travel in it. How much travel do you have in your new and improved Axim vs the old one that was mushy?
Thanks,
John

I think the Axim d-pad just has a lot of travel. That seems to be just the way it is.
Push your d-pad in all 8 directions. Do you feel a click? My new Axim does...

Mine feels fairly loose, but I do feel the clicks. It almost seems too loose to be useful, but I never really use it anyway. I'm not much of a Pocket Gamer.
