.NET Framework question please

Hi all.

I tried to load a program onto my recently update to WM2003 (iPAQ 3870) a program and an error message came up words to the effect that the program could not be installed as I needed to have .NET Framework V2.0.50727

I did a bit of Googling and found something but it did not seem right as the size of this .Net Framework that I found was some 35 MB in size.

That would consume half the memory of my PDA.

Could someone please explain this as it appears that I may need tis program, but installing 35 MB onto a small PDA????? :confused:

The 35 MB size is for the entire .NET CF package which includes the desktop and development components. The piece that installs to your device is just a small sliver of that amount. I think you can find the .cab file to install the WM portion directly on your device in the freecabs.de archive if you do not want to run the far larger desktop installer. The .cab file for ARM devices is about 5 MB in size.
