Anyone know how to configure a Clie N760C to access the internet via Verizon Wireless?

To browse the Internet and send e-mail through a wireless 802.11b wireless connection on the PEG NX60 NX70V, the PEGA WL100 software must be installed and configured.



Configure the handheld for wireless use.

Select the appropriate wireless environment to configure the handheld:


An Adhoc wireless connection
An access point wireless connection



1. An Adhoc wireless connection

a) Internet Use

How to configure the handheld to browse the Internet through a wireless 802.11b Adhoc connection.

IMPORTANT: Ensure the handheld software has been installed before configuring the handheld for Internet browsing.

On the computer, insert the PEGA WL100 Driver disc into the CD/DVD drive.
In the PEGA-WL100 Installation CD ROM window, in the English box, next to the Wireless LAN Utility heading, click the Install button.
In the Install Tool 4.0 window, under Select a user and click OK, click the down arrow, and click to select the appropriate user name.
In the Install Tool window, in the File Name box, ensure the WL100_ENUS.PRC file is listed.
Click the Done button.
In the Install Tool dialog box, under The listed file(s) will be installed to the handheld when you next perform a HotSync operation, click the OK button.
In the PEGA-WL100 Installation CD ROM window, click the Finish button.
Perform a HotSync® operation to add the WL100_ENUS.PRC file to the handheld.
On the handheld in the HotSync window, under You now need to reset your handheld computer by tapping the button below., tap the Reset button.
In the Preferences window, next to Date & Time, tap the down arrow, and then tap to select Network.
Next to Service, tap the down arrow, and then tap to select Wireless LAN.
Tap the Details... button.
In the Wireless LAN Setup window, tap the Create button.
In the ProfileName box, enter a profile name.
NOTE: The default ProfileName is NewProfile.

In the NetworkID (SSID) box, enter the SSID name of the Adhoc wireless card.
IMPORTANT: If there is only one wireless card within range, it is not necessary to enter an SSID name.

Under ConnectMode, tap the Adhoc button.
Under the Adhoc button, next to ch:, tap the down arrow, and then tap to select the appropriate channel.
Tap the Advanced Setup button.
Next to IP Address:, tap to clear the Auto box.
In the IP Address area, enter an available IP address in the same IP range as the computer with Internet access.
NOTES:

If the IP address of the computer is 192.168.0.50, an IP address in the same range would be 192.168.0.51.
Contact the system administrator for additional information

In the SubnetMask area, enter the same subnet mask as the computer with Internet access.
In the Gateway Address area, enter the same gateway address as the computer with Internet access.
Tap the OK button.
In the Wireless LAN Setup window, tap the OK button.
Under Profile Name:, tap the OK button.
In the Preferences window, tap the Connect button.
On the front of the handheld, tap the Home [FIG. 1] icon.
In the upper-right corner of the window, tap the down arrow, and tap All.
In the All window, tap the NetFront... icon.
IMPORTANT: If using a proxy server to connect to the Internet, configure the NetFront application to connect through the proxy server

Tap the Menu [FIG. 1] icon.
On the Open menu, tap Enter Address.
In the Enter Address window, under Address (URL), enter an appropriate URL.
NOTES:

An appropriate URL to enter would be www.sony.com
In some cases it may be necessary to setup Internet Connection Sharing on the computer for the CLIÉTM handheld to connect to the Internet.

Tap the OK button.



b) How to configure the handheld for HotSync® operation


IMPORTANT: Ensure the handheld software has been installed before configuring the handheld for HotSync® operation.

On the computer, insert the PEGA WL100 Driver disc into the CD/DVD drive.
In the PEGA-WL100 Installation CD ROM window, in the English box, next to the Wireless LAN Utility heading, click the Install button.
In the Install Tool 4.0 window, under Select a user and click OK, click the down arrow, and click to select the appropriate user name.
In the Install Tool window, in the File Name box, ensure the WL100_ENUS.PRC file is listed.
Click the Done button.
In the Install Tool dialog box, under The listed file(s) will be installed to the handheld when you next perform a HotSync operation, click the OK button.
In the PEGA-WL100 Installation CD ROM window, click the Finish button.

Tap the Details... button.
In the Wireless LAN Setup window, tap the Create button.

On the HotSync® Manager menu, ensure Network is selected.
Click Setup....
In the Setup window, click the Network tab.
On the Network tab, in the Checked users make this their Primary PC for performing a Network HotSync operation box, click to select the appropriate user.
Click the TCP/IP Settings... button.
In the TCP/IP Settings window, next to Primary PC Name, note the PC name.
Next to Primary PC Address, note the PC address.
Next to Subnet Mask (Optional), note the subnet mask.
Click the OK button.
In the Setup window, click the OK button.
On the Handheld, tap the Menu [FIG. 1] icon.
On the Options menu, tap Primary PC Setup.
In the Primary PC Setup window, ensure the Primary PC Name box is blank.
IMPORTANT: The handheld may not synchronize properly if the Primary PC Name box is populated.

In the Primary PC Address box, enter the computer primary PC address.
In the Subnet Mask (optional) box, enter the computer subnet mask.
Tap the OK button.
On the Handheld, tap the Menu [FIG. 1] icon.
On the Options menu, tap Modem Sync Prefs....
In the ModemSync Preferences window, tap the Network button.
Tap the OK button.
On the Handheld, tap the Menu [FIG. 1] icon.
On the Options menu, tap LANSync Prefs....
In the LANSync Preferences window, tap the LANSync button.
Tap the OK button.
In the HotSync window, tap the Modem button.
Tap the Select Service button.
In the Preferences window, next to Service, ensure Wireless LAN is displayed.
Click the Done button.
Tap the HotSync [FIG. 3] button.
IMPORTANT: The Primary PC Name box will re-populate the primary PC name after every successfull HotSync® connection. The Primary PC Name must be removed before attempting to synchronize again.
