I am sure you've heard this before: with my "new" iPaQ 3650, when I try to sync with Outlook 2000, I get the following error message: "Synchronization cannot start, because this desktop computer cannot access necessary information. Restart this desktop computer and synchronize again. If the problems persists and this desktop computer is running Microsoft Outlook 2000 click help and detect and repair. Otherwise contact your network administrator."

Problems:
a) - I am not on a network (one person suggested that I delete the Network Neighborhood - now THAt was a mistake!
b) - my files folder DOES sync, it is just the Outlook functions (calendar, contacts, tasks, etc.,) that do not

I Do believe that it is the desktop's fault(?), since I cannot sync with my Palm M105, either. But I have repaired and reinstalled O2K a number of times, to no avail.
