Odd problem with sound on spv e650/htc s710

Hi,

I have a new spv e650. I have unlocked it and it is on O2. It all seems to be working fine apart from I cannot get it to play a sound for reminders. It was working but I think it stopped when I changed to silent profile then back to normal. The sounds for everything else like text, email etc work fine.

When I goto settings->sounds and try to play the allocated sound, it wont for reminders. All the other sounds, when I click on menu->play sound, the sound plays but not reminders. When a reminder pops up there is no sound.

I'll never remember to do anything if the phone doesn't beep at me at the right moment!!

Any ideas?

Have you tried soft resetting the phone?

Hi,
when you say soft resetting the phone, do you mean switch off the phone and take the battery out? Or do you mean hold the 2 soft keys down and switch on? I would call the latter a hard resett which I am reluctant to do as it would mean unlocking etc again I presume. Have tried taking battery out and in and made no difference.

Have you tried assigning other sound to the reminders? Perhaps there is something unusual with that particular sound file.

yes I have tried them all. The only thing that works is if i set it to vibtate.
