psion 3mx + mac

Is there any software which will enable me to connect my 3mx to a G4 powerbook?

I have OSX 10.4.11 and OS Classic, can boot in both OSs and have a USB serial adapter.

I have tried using macconnect in both OSX and OS Classic and get an error message saying that the mac cannot find the psion, and that I should ensure that the serial port is not being used by another application or by appletalk. Appletalk is definitely disabled. Unable to determine whether serial port is being used by another application, don't know how to...

would appreciate any help

p.s. a friend with a 5mx has a lot of psion software I might be interested in. Will this software work on the 3mx?

That won't work, unfortunatly. Psion 3 MX works with SIBO OS, while Psion 5 works with Epoc OS.
