Is anyone able to help me with this? Apologies if it has been asked before but I couldn't find a relevant thread.

I am trying to use Bluetooth for Hotsyncing between a Toshiba laptop with a TDK PCMCIA BT Card and a Tungsten. The two devices see each other and are paired. I have set up the virtual Com ports on the laptop and told Hotsync to use a serial connection and use COM8. When I initiate the Hotsync from the Palm something is happening because the activity lights on the PC card start flashing and then stop when I cancel. However the TT just sits there and then says it cannot connect.

Can anyone help or know a place that can. I've done a Google and all I can find are instructions telling me to do what I've already done.

TIA

Leigh

Why do you choose com8?

Have you checked your BT configuration on your laptop, find out which com# it is using for virtual serial connection, make sure it is the same as the com# in your hotsync setup.

I used to have the same problem as you, however it is solved just by setting the com# on my hotsync to be the same as the BT configuration. :)

Hope this helps someone...

I had lots of trouble getting the hotsync to work via my Epox bluetooth usb adapter. I went and looked at my 'bluetooth serial port' and it was COM3. So of course I set hotsync to use COM3. well it would never work. Finally after much google seraching I found someone's explanation about a 'listening com port' vs a 'sending com port.' And he said that the one listed in the bluetooth config was the receiving one and that the sending one was one port higher.

So long story short... I went to hotsync\setup\local and pointed it at com4 and bam..it worked.

Good luck...
