When installing software to my S7 I am frequently presented with a message on my PC - Checking dependencies - this can be there for hours. What does it mean and can I cure it. I have heard of copying the SIS files to the S7 and instaling that way but with TomTom's .apk files thats not possible any longer.
I think that message is displayed when the installer is trying to work out what shared libraries in needs to install. Do you get this lock-up when installing any SIS file, or is it with certain specific file(s)?
Don't know if it would help, but Ralph Sprenger's (http://www.psionwelt.de/ralphsprenger/) freeware OPXScan program can tell you if there are any libraries you could safely delete?

Thanks for the info. It seems to be only with the TomTom software but as I have not installed anything else for a very long time it could be anything. The way I got round it last time was to move my CF disk to my S5 and install the software onto that and then put it back in the S7. I will give that OPX scan a try.

I haven't heard of this one for a while now, but it's a quite well-known problem when installing to S7. I don't know of any workaround, unfortunately, other than the ones you and Yan have already mentioned.
Just a thought, but have you got the latest PsiWin? (2.3.3) I did hear one case where the problem was apparently solved by upgrading from v2.3

I did read something somewhere once that Tom Tom software can mess up the PsiWin settings; I think this can be solved by deleting PsiWin.ini from the c:\system folder on your 7.
