Hello,
I'm looking for a compatible Wireless CF card for the Axim, I was looking at the Linksys but they say there still working on the drivers for MS Pocket PC 2002. Does anyone know any good ones, or if the D-Link 660 works on it, I've noticed that most only work on windows CE?
Thanks.

I think a lot of support departments are stating WinCE support, but in reality, they are referring to the whole line of Pocket PCs. I would have assumed that the Linksys would work with Pocket PC 2002 by now. Is this OS really that new? You can try cards from these brands as well:
Belkin
Socket Communications (*the one I'm purchasing)
Ambicom
Netgear
Proxim
SMC
Hawking Technologies

Is Dell going to release a CF II card from their TruMobile line of wifi cards for the Axim?

For those interested.....I have a CASIO ZCOM XI-825 802.11B WI-FI COMPACT FLASH that works great! Low power consuption and low profile. I've been told it is one of the smallest cfII wi-fi cards out there. check it out here........http://www.casio.com/accessories/product.cfm?section=154&product=4283&display=

in reference to the GPS problem, you may want to visit, http://www.microsoft.com/pocketstreets
At the bottom of the page, there is a link about an update pack so that GPS will work with Pocket Streets. Good Luck!

Yes!
Wince means the original POCKETPC & above means POCKETPC2002. I know someone who owns that card for their PDA and it works fine. I personally use the D-Link 650W.

I have the Axim X5 and purchased the linksys WCF12 wireless compact flash card. First let me say it was a breeze to configure. I was up and running in about 2 minutes. I connect to a linksys BEFW11S4 wireless router. So far so good, I recommend linksys as well. Their tech support has been top notch and you got to love when they are 24/7 at no additional cost.

I'm planning to buy a wireless card for my Axim also, but I dont have a wireless router, just a normal router. So does that mean I can't go online with the wireless card?

No, you need to have a wireless router in order to have access with the CF card.

I bought the Ambicom Model WL1100C-CF from Fry's Electronics for around $70. It seems to work well and has good range. Setup was a minor pain (maybe an OS issue rather than just Ambicom)but Ambicom has good directions for it at their web site.

I purchased the Socket Communications CF Card and it works fantastic. With my AP indoors, I can go two houses down and still get a signal. It is low profile and low power consumption. I highly recommend spending the money on this card.

I have the Ambicom, with my Dell Axim X5.
It works great!
Douggie, that's exactly the same card I was looking at getting; the Netgear 701. (Not bad, compusa wants only $65.) I have the Netgear MR314 wireless router at home, a Netgear MA401 card in my laptop, and the setup works great. Had a bit of a problem for a while, the laptop kept dropping it's connection, turned out all I had to do was update the router's firmware to the latest version (from netgear.com's download site).
Glad to know the card works great! Thanks!!
