I have a strange problem.

I have eight database files on my Revo and I have tried to convert them to .csv files using the conversion utility with Psi Win.

Three of them convert no problem.

The remaining five all give a message saying "There was a problem converting the file. You are denied access".

None of the files are password protected. None are read only. I cannot see any difference between the files that convert and those that do not (apart from their content.)

I have tried saving them first to my PC and then running the conversion - then I get the message: "Unable to Convert File".

I have tried saving a duplicate copy of the file to ensure it is compressed first. Still I get the error.

HELP!!!!!

ps. I am running windows XP on my PC although I don't see that could be the problem since three of the files converted fine.

There are a few pointers that may help on the 'Converting EPOC files to other formats' page of my FAQ - URL below.

Thanks for the tip but your FAQ's only mention the reverse situation where a PC based .csv will not convert to a Psion Data file.

I will continue to go through the contents of the five failed data files and see if I can see what is different between them and the three successful ones.

Any other ideas gratefully accepted.. tks.

Some things that might make a difference ...

1. Do the filed anmes contain any odd characters such as apostrophes, commas, etc.

2. Do the data entries themselves contain commas?

In general I would recommend enabling all three of the Export Options too.

Watch out for duplicate field names also.
Check the list in Change labels carefully.
