Hi folks..

If this is in the wrong thread, please excuse. I have search through the boards here but haven;t found something that matches.

So here's what I'm looking for.

I need a small footprint computer that has a CD burner.

Physical size has to be as small as possible. I've seen some small notebooks but none of them have a drive.

Recently I noticed on a website about something called a "netbook".

Do any of these have a CD burner?

My application is that I'm recording voice, for about 30 - 60 minutes for a client and then want to burn (on-the fly, hopefully) a audio CD of the recording when done.

Can any of you folks point me to the right device?

Thanks

Danolo

Hi Danolo,

You can't do that with a Psion, none will easily connect to a CD writer.

An alternative might be an ASUS Eee PC with an LG slim-line CD/DVD writer.

Hi Colin...

Yeah, I think you are correct.

And I think one cannot find a smaller netbook with an internal burner. because of space restrictions, I need the smallest device I can get with internal burner and its looking like so far I'm stuck with a 13" notebook.

Thanks

You may find a Flybook (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Flybook) the best match for your needs - the VM model seems to include a DVD burner. The older (and smaller) V33 and V5 models can use an external drive via USB/Firewire.

Just to add a couple more links - Flybook VM Tech Spec (http://www.flybookus.com/prodimages/vm_specs.php), Flybook V5 Tech Spec (http://www.flybookus.com/prodimages/v5_specs.php).
