Hi

I connect my IPAQ h4350 to to my home PC and my work PC. Both run WinXP Pro with ActiveSync v4.5. The strange thing is that my IPAQ turns off after a while when connected to my home PC but stays on all the time when connected to my work PC. I thought this could be because my home PC does not provide enough power through its USB port for the IPAQ to detect AC power but the battery charges so there is enough power on both PCs. Is there a setting somewhere to prevent the IPAQ from switching-off when connected?

Regards

Patrick

Do you have different power saving mode for your home and work PC? And do you connect the iPAQ directly to the usb port (not through a hub) on both computers?

Don't think the power settings are different because the battery continues to charge when the IPAQ switches-off. I will check when I get home tonight to make sure.

I don't think it's about charging or not charging, perhaps if you put computer to a suspended or power saving mode, Activesync on the desktop get suspended as well, without it running the iPAQ will probably shut itself off and behave as if it's connected only to power source.

Checked my home PC. Power settings are the same as my work PC. Also, ActiveSync is still running on my PPC when I turn it back on.
