I have a small wireless network set up using ad hoc mode. It consists of 2 laptops and a desktop. They are all running Windows XP. I have just purchased a Linksys compact flash card for my IPAQ 3870.

I have installed the card and it obviously works as I can access the internet and check E-mails etc. However, what I really want to be able to do is transfer files from my Laptop to my IPAQ. I can't work out how to do this.

I suspect I need to use Activesync. However if I go into tools and click on the drop down list containing USB it just goves a list containing items such as 115200 Default, 19200 Default etc.

If I click on the Server button there is a space for the Server name but I'm not sure what my server name is. If I click on advanced I get boxes for User Name, Password and Domain?

Has anybody manged to get a setup like this working and if so could they point me in the right direction.

Any help would be very much appreciated.

Thanks.

Chris.

On your PocketPC, you can use File Explorer, click on the button on the bottom named Network Share, its the one all the way to the right. A box should pop up to enter the share name. Enter in \\Computer Name\Share Name

The computer name being the computer on the network you wish to connect to

The share name being the name of the shared folder on the computer you are attempting to connect to

Hope this helps

Try an FTP server on the CE device:
