I have the RIM 957. My problem is that email posts to my 957 when it's in its cradle. The "disable email redirection to handheld when in cradle" box in the desktop manager is checked. Can someone give my advice as to how/if this can be fixed?

Sorry can't help but I have the same problem.
Talked to BB service techs often on this and no cigar.

Unfortunately we've also seen this and have no solution. Doesn't affect everyone, and when we've spoken to RIM we are told it's not a reported problem.

This feature does work properly in the 3.x software for the 58xx/67xx devices, but I have no idea how to correct the problem with the 957s...

Make sure you have synced with your PC, this will ensure the desktop software detecs the device so no mail is sent while in the cradle.

There are 2 fixes:
1) uncheck to redirect email when in cradle, close software, reopen and recheck.
2) remove user from BES (if you have one) and readd the user.
3) last resort: you need to call BlackBerry to get dbclean.exe which will reset the data information. This ALWAYS works.

this error is caused by network latency. When you change these options, or shut down the software it tries to update the BES, if your network has issues the data is stopped during transit and "hangs".

Thanks JBJR.
I tried solution #1 and no cigar.
Not on a BES so can't try #2.
That leaves me with option #3.

I'll give RIM tech support a buzz.

That will definitely work. RIM support won't let you go until they fix the issue, you can bet on that. DBClean works miracles on weird corruption issues like this one.

Also, something else I neglected to mention is making a new MAPI profile, a barebones one with no address book or psts added. If the existing MAPI is corrupted, the new one will allow you to access the proper section of your Exchange server which tells the software it is in cradle and allow it to be updated.
