my wonderful SJ30 no longer recognizes my stylus due to a big long crack in the screen. the saddest part, i had planned on getting a metal case in the next couple of weeks. can anyone repair a cracked screen? i can still access my info using the buttons and jog scroll. if you can help, repair, or point me in a direction, please do.

to further elaborate on my problem: the glass has the long crack, but the LCD was not affected in the least. please, is this possible to fix?

Sony charges about $180 to replace the broken glass. Not a very customer-friendly policy since many PDA makers will repair any problem for $100. Currently, no one is making the digitizer glass and Sony apparently won't sell just the glass to PDA repair services. A SONY representive told me that "the unit was not made to be dropped". Unfortunately, the bottom line is that the unit becomes worthless if the glass is broken.
I could be that in the future someone will provide the glass at a reasonable cost but by then the unit is likely to be obsolete. If you buy a new one you can at least use the battery from the broken unit if you need a spare.... but Sony doesn't make it easy to swap batteries. Another possibility is to sell the unit for parts on ebay and recover some of your cost. It's a great PDA but SONY's policies make one think twice about buying from them in the future.
