h3830 ipaq wireless card not interneting

Hello,
I am new here so please bare with me. I just got a Ipaq 3830 with and expansion card reader that came with a linksys compact flash card. I downloaded the drivers and got them fully installed. It was working good, but now will not internet at all on its own. The light is on and the connection to the router is good, it has 98-100 percent signal. But under the connection type for how you want to connect there is no wireless card type only dialup settings. There is internet settings, work settings, but you cant set it for the linksys. When I dock it it will connect through the computer, but when undocked it does nothing. Please help.:o

Have you tried soft-reset the iPAQ?

yes I did. No change. I dont even have a place to choose connect with wireless card only dialup. I see the signal and all is good, just dont allow me to choose it.

Open File Explorer on the iPAQ, browse to Windows folder, locate Welcome.exe and click it. It will reset several network connection settings and take you to initialize screens (re-align screen, ...), then you can reconfigure all the settings.

I did that and didnt work, there is still no setting for the card. Only dialup setting. I dont even have a modem. Is there a web page some where that shows what I should be seeing unser the connection settings? Network adapter shows it there and has a good signal.

First, it wasn't clear from your original post, have you ever gotten internet to work at all? Was it working and all of a sudden not working or never get the internet to work at all.

Second which version of OS are you running?, if it was upgraded to ppc2003 then this may help

Typically in Networks setting check if you choose "My Work Network" along with "This network connects to the Internet". And select "Work" for Network Card.

I had it interneting at first when I downloaded and installed the card. I left and tried it on a wireless hot spot which it didnt work there, when I came back it didnt work here, So I then played with it and got it working again, then It stoped and hasnt worked since. microsoft pocket pc version 3.0.11171 build 11178 How do I find what windows verison I have?

Found windows ce 3.0 rom ver. 1.15.04 eng date 11/01/01 rev. 2.0
does that help any, where might I find an upgrade for this thing? LOL By the way thanks for all the help so far.

It is running ppc2002, you can upgrade it to ppc2003. You may still find upgrade on sale on Ebay.
