Axim synch capability?

I am looking to buy an Axim and through my search for information I turned up A) this site :D and B) a user review over at cnet that stated Axims will only synch up with Dell computers. The software/embedded firmware can some how tell that the computer is non-Dell and will fail synch activity? :confused:

Can people please confirm or deny this?

I personally think it is BS... but I am just checking to make sure. :)

pure BS. all pocket PCs use windows CE, which in turn uses m.s. activesync to do all the sync'ing with your pc. it won't matter what you run it on.

...just second-ing his post. I synch my Axim on 3 different PC's. Dell, Gateway and Clone. No problems.

I figured it had to be BS. Dell would be committing product suicide if the Axim only synched with Dell machine...:eek:

pure BS indeed I"m running a custom built machine with all kinds of different parts and components.
