Hello All,

I use my PDA (Dell v51x) for satnav (Destinator 6), but I only use it few times a year. Because I don't keep my PDA charged up for the entire year, I have to install the program through a PC every time I need to use it, obviously, it takes a bit of time to download and settings.

Is there a way to copy the image of the RAM into a SD card, and every time I want to use my satnav, all I have to do is charge it up, put the SD card with the RAM image (with the satnav program installed), image goes back into the RAM, and off I go?

Or is there a way of converting the installation so that it is installed through a SD card rather than through a PC?

Many thanks,

T

There are a few 3rd party backup applications such as Sprite Backup that will let you backup the contents of your device to storage card and restore from it. You should be able to also install the program directly to storage card or non-volatile ROM on your device. And if the software maker provide .CAB file installer then that will allow you to install it directly from storage card.
