I have a HTC_P3700 smartphone I got recently and first am wondering what type of MS Smartphone it is (what's the difference between the two?), how do I check?
Secondly there are two things I don't like about it. The first being it doesn't use the standard 3.5mm headphone jack, and since I use my portables lots for music, it's important that I can pick the headphones I want.
The second being there is no memory card slot.
I found a 3.5mm apadter on eBay so that solves that, but I am still wondering if there is a way to read cards like SD, Micro/Mini SD. In

The about screen it says "Expansion slot: Not in Use" so I was wondering if there is a card reader device for the expansion slot, or maybe the USB. This is a WM6.1 device so would it support USB host.
PS sorry for double posting, I couldn't edit...

HTC Touch Diamond runs Windows Mobile 6.1 Professional which is a full featured WM not Smartphone. Smartphone will have WM 6 Standard and no touch screen.
I don't think this model has USB host, just USB drive mode which allows you to plug it in to desktop and see it as USB flash memory drive for easy and fast files transfer.
I'm afraid you can only use HTC Touch Diamond's 4 GB of on-board storage.

That sucks, my old PDA doesn't support SDHC and this doesn't even support anycards. I use Bluetooth with my iPaq but I have to copy the files (I can't open them right off, like stream them), but Bluetooth has really slow transfer speeds. Is there alteast a way I can use Wifi instead?
What exactly is a smartphone, I thought a smartphone was a PDA with a cellphone device in it...

You should be able to use 3rd party file explorer such as Total Commander or Resco Explorer to see network share drive with wifi connection.
From http://www.pocketpcfaq.com/faqs/6/branding.htm
1. Windows Mobile 6 Professional (Formerly known as Pocket PC Phone Edition) - These devices have touch screens and are cell phones. Some devices may have Wi-Fi, Bluetooth as well as full keyboards. Their use is designed to be data centric where you can enter text into them quickly. They also include Office Mobile (including creation and editing of documents).
2. Windows Mobile 6 Standard (Formerly known as Smartphone) - These devices do not have a touch screen and they are cell phones. Some devices have a full keyboard as well as Wi-Fi and Bluetooth. Their use is designed to be a cell phone first with some data entry capabilities.
3. Windows Mobile 6 Classic (Formerly known as Pocket PC) - These devices have touch screens and they are not cell phones. Some devices may have Wi-Fi, Bluetooth as well as full keyboards. Their use is designed to be data centric where you can enter text into them quickly. They also include Office Mobile (including creation and editing of documents).

I think in mine somewhere it says Pocket PC for plarform, so that means rouch screen. The information there lists OSes and hardwaare, so each type of device has it's own OS, because I was about to buy a device without a touch screen but had a few games that needed it, if I would have gotten it though they probably wouldn't start since it has a different OS than my pocket PC PDA...
So when I am looking for applications and there are smartphone versions, does that mean they are made for these devices without touch screens anh use buttons instead?
Also, I didn't mean browse the network over wifi (the bundled file explorer app on my PPC2003 PDA did that as TC which I have on both my devices) but if there is a way for me to browse the card in my iPaq over Wifi...

Correct, and Smartphone version of the software will not work in regular touch screen WM devices.

No, you will need to plug it into the desktop.

But if I am not by a desktop I need a fast way to access the card cuz Bluetooth is slow, is there a program I can run that would share my card over samba or something?

I tried that program but it only connected sometimes, however I found a better one, and it's free!
