Hey, Kasia mentioned something about Bejeweled (http://www.astraware.com/games/popcap/bejeweled/hi-res.php) crashing on the TT. I have been having that problem too. I use the High Resolution Version 2.0 (it's gorgeous!) . Anyone else had crashing problems?

This is espeically annoying, since I've been playing the game quite a bit more since the pretty high-resolution Bejeweled version came out. At least a simple reset seems to do the trick -- but I lose the game I've been playing :( . There goes that fine high score I was working on! Boy, I love nasty violent games like Bejeweled!

Anyone know the scoop? I didn't see anything useful about it on Astraware (http://www.astraware.com/)'s site.

I've had the same experience as you, Clare. I have Bejeweled 2.0 & at first it was fine. I didn't have Mapopolis installed yet when I was first running Bejeweled on the TT.

After I had problems with Mapopolis & contacted their tech support, I was told that it was a conflict between Mapopolis & Bejeweled, but really the problem was in OS 5.

Since that time I have problems occasionally with Bejeweled - it freezes up in the middle of a game. Sometimes a reset takes me back to the same game, but not at the point where it froze - I've always got a lower score. Other times I have to start a new game after the reset.

I think the problem is with Bejeweled, although I haven't been able to find out anything from Astraware. I thought perhaps they would be aware of the problem & be issuing an update.

I've thought about removing both Mapopolis & Bejeweled & then just reinstalling one or the other to see what happens - haven't had time yet to play with it.

I've had the same experience as both of you. After playing Bejeweled on my TT, Mapopolis crashes upon launching. Once I press the reset button, Mapopolis works OK. I have not yet had Bejeweled crash on its own, but then I've only had it for a day.

I do not have Mapopolis. My Bejeweled crashes (apparently) on its own. I'm still bummed....

Mine is still not crashing. ... What does yours do? Does it freeze the screen? Does the screen go blank or white or black? Does it give an error message?

OldBlue ... just being nosy and curious ;)

OK, for OldBlue's sake, and in the interest of science, I forced myself to play Bejeweled until it crashed. It probably took about 8 games or so. My recall of the previous crashes was correct: it just freezes up. The screen remains displaying the bejeweled jewels, with no error message. And nothing functions, of course. After rebooting, if I start the game again, I've lost most of the points I had accumulated (drat!). :(

Mine hasn't crashed in a few days. I, too, have forced myself to play it in the interests of gathering accurate data!!!:)

When mine crashes, the sounds disappear first & then nothing happens when I click on the jewels, but the Bejeweled game display stays on the screen.

After the reset, one of two things happens. I either see the game I was playing, with a big Game Paused on the screen, or I see the Bejeweled title page & have to start a new game.

If the game is paused, I can start it again by just tapping the screen, but the score is always a LOT less than it was when the game froze.

I have Bejeweled 2.1 & Mapopolis 5.15. No crashes here. :)

I agree about having to pay twice for 2 platforms, but they really are 2 seperate programs. Sux, but what are ya gonna do?

And BTW - the codes are HOTSYNC Name dependant.

As borax jr said, he has bejewled 2.1. Try upgrading from your 2.0's to 2.1. You will likely see a 'downgrade' in sound quality, which is why so many of us are sticking with 2.0, but it will likely solve your crashes.

And clieguy- as borax jr said, it would be useless. But merely asking for such a thing is enough to break the forum policy.
