I really need help: My Betty has lost her voice!

Tomorrow I am leaving on a road trip to an area I've never been before and I really need her voice commands.

I haven't used Betty's GPS for a while, and today I inputted a couple of destinations to make sure everything was working and her voice is gone! (Maps, directions on screen, etc. all work fine)

I am hoping that perhaps I have accidently inactivated her voice by hitting a button somewhere.

I do have Systems sound on and can hear it plainly. Also, I can play mp3 songs from the SD card and the audio is fine.

Is there a setting somewhere I need to adjust?

I'd appreciate any help and comments. (I hope this isn't the first sign of her demise)

Thank you!!

a loyal 3600 owner!!

It sounds like your voice files have been either corrupted or lost. You can restore them by using your original installation CD for the iQue. When it autoruns and the main menu screen comes up you should get an option to add a voice or change a voice or something like that. Choose that and select the English voice again. That will reinstall the voice files. That should do it. It's brute force but it should be the quickest and easiest fix.

Ken, thank you so much! We received your information before leaving. Wefollowed your instructions and Betty was flawless for the trip.

I drove to a city where the streets curve so the directions change, street names change, etc. so Betty was extremely helpful!

Thanks again!

I'm glad it got to you in time. A well-functioning GPS can make a trip a lot smoother sometimes. Betty with no voice would have been helpful, I suppose, but she's so much better when she can nag at you. ;)
